Information collected as you use Music_SDP

No third party tools, and nothing used for advertising

We collect information using a custom-built solution designed exclusively to help us understand how our users engage with the software. Our solution does not utilize any third-party tools and therefore does not make your information available to other organizations. We do not sell your information to advertisers or to any other organization.

Your project and system state

We collect occasional snapshots of your projects, which we use to understand the size and scope of Music_SDP projects. These snapshots include:

  • Saved and open pedal boards, and the information on those boards.
  • The system board settings
  • Project settings and system preferences
  • Full view device content (such as metronome automation and mixer settings).
  • Your device’s operating system

These snapshots do not include any audio files or other imported assets.

Your session activity

We collect information about your activity during your sessions in Music_SDP, which we use to understand the ways and methods that music is made in the software. Activities captured include:

  • Duration of your session
  • New project creation and project loading
  • Creation, modification, and removal of boards, modules, and processes
  • Use of secondary features in the program (such as the virtual controllers)

Your location information

We collect information about your location when you run Music_SDP, which helps us understand the scope and shape of our community. Your location is determined by your public IP address.

Information NOT collected as you use Music_SDP

We do not collect personally identifiable information beyond text that you enter into program fields, and your public IP address, and we do not gather information that falls outside of the scope of your use of Music_SDP. A unique identifier is generated and attached to your device profile so that we can identify your device while retaining your anonymity.

Why Music_SDP collects data

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Maintain & improve our services

We may use your information to ensure our services are working as intended, such as troubleshooting issues that you report to us. And we use your information to make improvements to our services — for example, understanding how users navigate our program can help us pinpoint where issues are happening.

Develop new content

We use the information we collect to help us develop new tools. For example, understanding what modules people use helps us determine where to add new features and how to focus updates.

Sharing your information

We do not share your individual usage information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of the Music_SDP team. There are, however, legal reasons why we may need to share your information.

We will share personal information outside of the Music_SDP team if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

  • Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
  • Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues.
  • Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of the Music_SDP team, our users, or the public as required or permitted by law.

We may share non-personal information gleaned from analytics publicly. For example, we may share trends about the general use of the software.

Our Commitment to Security

We have put in place appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security and correctly use the information we collect. No system can be completely secure, however, and we do not guarantee that unauthorized disclosures and access will not happen. Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure you that information that we collect will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We always indicate the date the last changes were published. If changes are significant, we’ll provide a prominent notice (for example, email notification of Privacy Policy changes to users on our mailing list).
