The Music_SDP 1.1.4a “Dean’s List” update is here!
By this point, our users may be getting to know the name Dean Berlinerblau. He’s the creator responsible for our newest visual assets, and he’s also made the music we’ve used in some of our more recent videos. He created a list of feature requests some time back, and as a thank you for his contributions, we got to work to make as many of the requests as possible into a reality. Along the way we’ve taken care of some other glaring issues, and we’ve got some beta features installed in preparation for the 1.1.5 update coming out later in April. Let’s look at *some* of what we’ve fixed for the “Dean’s List”:
No More Clicks in Our Improved Audio File Modules
This one’s been a long-time coming. We’ve gone back and fixed all of the clicking issues in of both the Audio File Player and the EZ File Player. Start and stop selections, use the loop function and change locations. You won’t hear a click, pop, or snap at any point. Unless it’s something you recorded, that is…
We’ve also been having a blast using the Glitch Pad’s “Pro” view, so we decided to add a new “Big View” to the Audio File Player. Just find the new button to the right of the waveform display to open up the new view. It’s perfect for those times when you need just a little more.
We Fixed the Panner Module
We found the origin of the problem with the Panner, and now it’s fixed for good. We’ve also renamed it to the Pan Machine. To top things off, we touched up the parameters so that users now have more automation control.
Clear your mind
The Delay and Echo modules now come equipped with clear buttons to remove anything currently bouncing around inside. Because sometimes we all just need to start over.
Board Manager Beta…
We’ve got some really exciting changes coming with 1.1.5 and we’re laying the groundwork for new things. Part of this groundwork is the new Board Manager (still in development) that allows you to add and remove Board Files in your project. Look closely and you may also notice that you can add and remove module IDs. But, what could that be for…?
Other Updates and Improvements
The Dean’s List doesn’t end there. Here’s what else you can expect:
One other improvement to the Audio Player and EZ Audio Player is that selections made on the waveform display won’t begin until after the user has released the mouse.
A Confirmation window pops up for a few seconds when a board is saved or re-saved.
The Project Loader now closes once a project is selected (currently the window is just hidden.) This closes the News browser with it, freeing up a little bit of RAM on your computer.
Record Toggle and File Name can now be automated on the Audio Recorder Module.
Recording Tools on the System Board now always send the recorded files to the right project folders every time a recording is made.
Forums are back!
We’re glad to announce that after a long hiatus, we’ve finally brought forums back to Music_SDP’s online presence. After a lot of research, we settled on the Disqus platform for it’s popularity and ease of use. You’ll see the link on our website (or you can just go straight to the forums here) and you’ll also start to see Disqus used as our comments solution with future blog posts. Remember, we want to hear from you!
The 1.1.5 Update is on the horizon, and we can’t wait to share more with the community about what to expect. But, as usual, we don’t want to reveal our plans until we know what we can make possible. We’ll be back soon with more information, and we promise it’ll be interesting! In the meantime, enjoy the Deans List!

we’ll see you with more news and updates soon!
